Kings Island Theme and Water Park

Among the best family things to do in Cincinnati, Kings Island is the largest theme and water park in the Midwest! The park offers more than 40 thrill rides, including record-breakers designed to feel like a tornado, runaway train, and more! If you’ve been to Kings Island before, it’s worth another visit; new coasters join the roster every year. Along with some of the nation’s wildest roller coasters, there’s an award-winning kids’ area and enormous accompanying waterpark to explore, too.

Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden

If you or your family are animal-lovers, the Cincinnati Zoo is a must-see. The zoo hosts over 500 animals and 3,000 unique plants. Spending some time with the gibbons, giraffes, polar bears, and lions is another of our favorite family activities in Cincinnati!  Take a break from walking in the 4-D Theater, or hop on a train and carousel ride. Or, catch a barnyard show at the Spaulding Children’s Zoo — one of many excellent Cincinnati kids activities to enjoy here!

Newport Aquarium

Just south of downtown Cincinnati you’ll find the Newport Aquarium. Here you’ll find plenty of things to do in Cincinnati with kids — including an aquarium, dive shows, the Tide Pool, and the Frog Bog — where you can see interesting frogs and burn off some energy in the play area! If you dare, touch a shark at Shark Bridge. We also recommend visiting the seahorses, penguins, alligators, stingrays, and colorful fish — and be sure you don’t miss the rare white alligators!

Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame & Museum

Baseball fans of all stripes will be psyched to spend the day in the Cincinnati Reds Museum. Dive into American baseball history, try your arm at the pitching mound, or call plays in the broadcast booth with Marty Brennaman and Joe Nuxhall! Take a break in the Ultimate Reds Room, decorated like the perfect rec room for any sports lover. When you add a tour of Great American Ballpark, this is undoubtedly one of the best Cincinnati kids’ activities around.

Carew Tower Observation Deck

Whether you hail from Sharonville or further afield, take stock of your time in Cincinnati with a bird’s eye view. Carew Towers’s 49th-story Observation Deck delivers panoramic views of downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. More than 25 shops, restaurants, and other amenities right there in the building make Carew Tower one of our favorite fun family things to do in Cincinnati!
