Instead of being flashy, the GLS looks elegant at the back, with chrome pieces between the taillights. Both the turn signals and the taillights are fully LED. Chrome accents can also be seen on the rear bumper, lying between the two exposed exhaust outlets.

The 2021 Mercedes GL 450 4MATIC comes with a 3.0 liter, inline-6 mild hybrid engine that generates 362 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, being mated to the 9-speed (9G-TRONIC) automatic transmission. Of course, there is also the option to get the GLS 580 4MATIC that comes with a more powerful 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo engine with 483 hp and 516 lb-ft.
