As a high-quality vehicle, your Mercedes-Benz needs high-quality care. You strive to make the best choices for the health of your car, but this can be harder than it sounds. Misinformation is everywhere when it comes to car service, and you may have heard (and believed) myths about cars and their maintenance over the years. That’s why we’re debunking some of the most common myths below. Keep reading to get the facts, and if your Mercedes-Benz is ready for service, make an appointment here at Mercedes-Benz of Cincinnati today.
This is one of the most prevalent car myths, and while a 3,000-mile interval used to be standard for oil changes, it isn’t necessary to change your oil that often today. Modern engines are far more advanced than engines of the past, and today’s vehicles run far more efficiently thanks to innovations in engine design. This means that most vehicles made in the past 15 years will need oil changes every 5,000-7,000 miles, or perhaps even longer. For a specific recommendation for your vehicle, ask one of our Mercedes-Benz service advisors, or refer to your owner’s manual.
All-season tires will serve you well in most weather conditions, but in extreme weather, you’ll want a set of specialized tires between you and the road. Snowy winter driving is much safer with winter tires, as these tires provide increased traction on icy roads. Similarly, summer tires can provide better handling when the temperature outside is scorching hot (and the pavement is, too). Consider investing in specialized tires to have the best and safest driving experience in your Mercedes-Benz.
Again, this is a myth that applied to cars of the past, but it’s not applicable today. Modern cars don’t need to be warmed up before driving, and in fact, letting your car idle does more harm than good. Your engine will actually warm up faster as you drive, so avoid burning gas and creating emissions unnecessarily by starting up your car and driving Non aggressively while the engine warms.
Waiting until your tire tread reaches 2/32” deep is cutting it too close for comfort. It’s a better idea to replace your tires when the tread is at 4/32”. This ensures you can still drive safely (especially in inclement weather) while you shop for tires. We offer a wide selection of tires here at Mercedes-Benz of Cincinnati, and you can even order your next set online.
It may seem like premium gas is “healthier” for your car — after all, it’s more expensive, and that usually means higher quality. However, most vehicles don’t need premium gas to perform at their best. Regular, 87-octane gasoline is perfectly healthy for most vehicles. Premium gasoline is recommended for high-performance models, as the higher octane reduces the chance of engine knocking. If you aren’t driving a sports car, you can save money by filling up with regular gasoline. Follow the advice in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
These are only some of the pervasive myths we’ve heard here at our service center. If you have another service tip that you think might be a myth, don’t hesitate to chat about it with our service technicians. They’ll be happy to give you the facts and help create a customized service schedule that fits your vehicle perfectly. Schedule your next service appointment on our website today, and we’ll look forward to serving you soon.

If you’re considering one of the all-electric models here at Mercedes-Benz of Cincinnati, you may be wondering about the types of electric vehicle chargers compatible with Mercedes-Benz EVs. Below, we’ve answered some common questions related to plug and charger compatibility, the future of Mercedes-Benz EV charging, and more.
It’s easy to charge a Mercedes-Benz EV, thanks to the Mercedes me connect app. Accessible from your smart device, Mercedes me connect has a feature called Mercedes me Charge which shows you nearby, compatible charging stations. The app also helps you connect digitally to each station and pay for charging with your pre-loaded payment information. Mercedes-Benz EVs are compatible with over 60,000 stations on some of the nation’s largest networks, including Electrify America®, EVgo®, and ChargePoint®. When you buy an EV here at Mercedes-Benz of Cincinnati, we’ll help you get set up with Mercedes me Charge before you head home in your new vehicle.
Charging at Electrify America® stations, and all other compatible chargers, is easy. First, either use Mercedes me Charge or the MBUX navigation system in your vehicle to locate a charging station, then drive there. If you choose an Electrify America® station, you can simply plug in and start charging once you arrive, thanks to the Plug & Charge program that’s available at Electrify America® stations for select models. At other stations, you will have to scan your RFID card before plugging in. Once your EV has reached the level of charge you want, simply unplug and be on your way. For more information, visit our dedicated page on all things EVs.
This is a good question, as there are a few different plug and charger types. At home, you can use the Mobile Flex Charging Cable, which comes with Mercedes-Benz EV purchases, for Level 1 and Level 2 AC-voltage charging. The integrated connectors at public Level 2 chargers, known as J1772 connectors, are compatible with Mercedes-Benz EVs.
At a fast charger, you’ll use the station's integrated connector, which will be a type of charging cable and plug that can handle DC voltage. As of 2024, Mercedes-Benz EVs in North America are only compatible with Combined Charging System (CCS) Type 1 fast chargers. EVs from most major brands work with the CCS system (aside from Tesla — more on that in the next section), and networks like Electrify America®, EVgo®, and ChargePoint® use the CCS system.
As of May 2024, Mercedes-Benz vehicles are not compatible with Tesla chargers. Tesla uses a different charging system than other manufacturers: the North American Charging Standard (NACS). NACS is a hybrid system that provides both Level 2 and DC fast charging.
NACS-compatible charging cables have a differently shaped plug than those compatible with CCS, so you currently can’t even plug into a Tesla Supercharger to power up a Mercedes-Benz, much less have the system recognize the vehicle. This system has been unique to Tesla up until now, though things are set to change soon.
It was recently announced that a variety of EV manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz, have partnered with Tesla to begin offering NACS adapters. This will allow drivers with CCS-compatible vehicles to charge at Tesla Superchargers. Mercedes-Benz NACS adapter availability will begin in 2024, though Mercedes-Benz has yet to announce an exact date. Additionally, starting in 2025, the brands partnered with Telsa will begin including NACS charging ports in their new vehicles (most likely in addition to CCS ports), according to U.S. News and World Report. Mercedes-Benz is also building over 2,500 high-powered chargers of its own throughout North America, aiming to create a top-tier charging experience for its EV owners.
If you have any further questions, we have EV experts on our team who are ready to help. Mercedes-Benz of Cincinnati is your EV headquarters here in southwest Ohio, and we look forward to welcoming you to our state-of-the-art showroom soon.

When you travel in a Mercedes-Benz, you can expect a truly remarkable experience. Whether you’re the owner of a gas-powered sedan or SUV or one of our cutting-edge electric vehicles, your journey will be comfortable and thoroughly luxurious. Planning to travel with a Mercedes-Benz electric SUV? Good choice: These innovative models have impressive range and features that will make your trip a pleasure. Before you set off, read through our guide below to learn how to prepare for an electric vehicle road trip.
When traveling in an EV, you won’t be able to count on finding a charging station around every corner (like you would with gas stations). That’s why it is crucial to understand your vehicle’s range and map out your route in advance. You can use a third-party app, like those from PlugShare and EVgo, to do this; however, when you use your Mercedes me connect app to find chargers, you can easily send directions straight to your model’s MBUX Navigation system (if equipped). Mercedes me Charge is easy to use, and if you have any questions, our team will be happy to help. You’re most likely to find DC fast chargers in larger cities along your route. Small towns may only have Level 2 chargers (which only add 10 to 20 miles of range per hour of charging) or they may have no chargers at all. Make sure to plan your stops carefully to ensure you’ll be near a charger that is compatible with your vehicle when you need it. Booking a hotel in your destination? Consumer Reports recommends finding one with EV chargers onsite so your car can charge while you sleep.
In this same vein, it’s important to ensure that your pad your itinerary with extra time to account for charging. Charging isn’t as fast as getting gas, so include charging time when determining your ETA. Wondering how long does it take to charge an electric vehicle? DC fast chargers can typically charge an EV in less than an hour. In fact, Consumer Reports writes that DC fast chargers charge about ten times faster than their Level 2 counterparts. However, since it’s harder to find fast chargers, you may need to wait for a while as your Mercedes-Benz charges at a Level 2 charger. Roadtrippers recommends coordinating charging with meal breaks or visits to attractions along your route. It’s widely recommended to charge an EV before the battery dips below 20 percent charged. Keep in mind that many electric vehicles charge fastest between 20 and 80 percent, so you might not want to spend extra time waiting for your model to reach 100 percent. Rather, stop more often to keep your battery in the 20-80 percent range (a move which can actually elongate your battery’s lifespan, according to Flo).
While there are many, many EV chargers nationwide (over 130,000!), the infrastructure is still in its early stages. Having a plan A and a plan B is a wise decision when it comes to traveling with an EV. By this, we mean that you shouldn’t plan to stop in a town with a single EV charging station when your model has a low battery, as the charger could be out of service, you could have a long wait to use it, or your model could be incompatible with the charger. If you plan to stop in an area with multiple charging stations before your battery is at a critical level, you’ll have a backup place to charge in the event of unanticipated issues. Feeling charging anxiety? Don’t worry: Your Mercedes-Benz EV will warn you far in advance regarding its charge level. You’ll have more than enough time to safely pull off the highway and navigate to the next station on your route.
Driving an EV can be truly freeing — imagine having no need to touch a dirty gas pump ever again! Whether you’re charging up here in Cincinnati or out of town, the process is simple and straighforward. With a little preparation, you can hit the road in your EV and focus on making memories. If you have any questions, the team here at Mercedes-Benz of Cincinnati is always here to help.

The world of luxury electric vehicles is constantly evolving, with new models being released every year. Two of the most exciting new entrants into this market are the Mercedes-Benz EQS and the Porsche Taycan. Both of these vehicles offer impressive performance, technology, and luxury, but there are some key differences between them that buyers should be aware of.
In this blog, we'll take a closer look at the differences between the Mercedes-Benz EQS and the Porsche Taycan, including their performance, technology, and design. Whether you're a luxury EV enthusiast or simply curious about these new models, read on to learn more about how the EQS and Taycan stack up against each other.
The engine, superior speed, agility, and overall driving experience determines a car's performance. Let’s see how these two vehicles compare.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS has taken an early lead with its superior engine features. With a battery capacity of 108.4 kWh, it surpasses the Taycan's sedan, which has a battery capacity of 79.2 kWh. The battery capacity of a car impacts the number of miles it can travel on a full charge, and the EQS's battery pack provides a city and highway range of 350 miles, compared to the Porsche Taycan's 200 miles. This means that the EQS can cover more distance on an open stretch road without the need for recharging.
However, it takes the Porsche Taycan sedan 9.5 hours to fully charge on a 240V AC adaptor, while the EQS requires an additional two hours using a similar adaptor. Despite this, the EQS offers exceptional handling and blistering acceleration, making it the superior engine of the two cars.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS has an advantage over the Taycan due to its impressive speed capabilities. It can reach a top speed of 210 miles per hour (mph) and accelerate from zero to 60mph in just two seconds. While the Taycan comes in second, its achievements are still noteworthy. With launch control, it can accelerate from zero to 60mph in 2.3 seconds and has a top speed of 160mph.
Both the EQS and Taycan are equipped with advanced steering and suspension technology that can adapt to different road conditions. The EQS features front and rear air suspension that adjusts the car's height and firmness based on the driving conditions. Meanwhile, the Taycan uses adjustable air suspension and Porsche's Active Suspension Management system for shock absorption. It also has an adjustable steering column to enhance the driving experience and comfort.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS has a larger battery capacity of 108.7 kWh, providing an estimated range of up to 350 miles per full charge. In comparison, the Porsche Taycan has a smaller battery capacity of 79.2 kWh, resulting in an estimated range of up to 200 miles per full charge.
It's worth noting that the actual range can vary based on several factors, including driving style, speed, terrain, and temperature. However, the EQS's larger battery capacity gives it a clear advantage in terms of range over the Taycan.
Additionally, the EQS engine boasts an impressive 634PS horsepower and 1020Nm of torque, while the Taycan falls behind with only 333PS of horsepower and a maximum torque of 650Nm.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS and Porsche Taycan have distinct exterior designs that set them apart from each other. The EQS has a modern and streamlined appearance, while the Taycan has a more athletic and dynamic look, resembling a sports car.
Moving to the interior, both cars boast luxurious features such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, advanced driver-assist technologies, and an augmented reality head-up display. However, the EQS interior has a slight edge over the Taycan's, with more overall space for passengers, including generous head and legroom. While both cars can accommodate up to five passengers, the Taycan also offers a decent 446 liters of trunk space.
Mercedes-Benz EQS exterior design
When it comes to pricing, the EQS has a starting price of around $103,360, while the Taycan starts at around $81,250. The price difference can be attributed to various factors, including the EQS's larger battery pack, longer driving range, and more spacious cabin. However, it is important to note that both cars offer a wide range of optional features and upgrades that can significantly increase the final price.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS and the Porsche Taycan are two impressive electric vehicles that offer exceptional performance, technology, and luxury. While both cars have their unique features and strengths, the EQS stands out with its powerful engine, impressive range, and spacious interior. Additionally, with its futuristic design and cutting-edge technology, the EQS offers a driving experience that is unparalleled.

The EQE's 90.6-kWh battery pack produces 402 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. Additionally, the EQE's air suspension system and rear-wheel steering provide a smooth and comfortable ride, making it an ideal choice for long-distance driving.
The Model 3, however, is slightly more agile and responsive due to its lower center of gravity and quick steering. When it comes to driving range, the EQE offers an estimated range of around 400 miles, which is a significant advantage over the Model 3's range, which varies depending on the battery pack option.
While both electric vehicles offer impressive performance, the Mercedes-Benz EQE's slightly better acceleration, smoother ride, and longer range make it a more well-rounded choice for drivers seeking a luxury midsize electric sedan.
Mercedes-Benz EQE
As for spaciousness, the Mercedes-Benz EQE and the Tesla Model 3 both offer ample room for passengers and cargo. However, the EQE has a slight edge over the Model 3 in terms of interior space and overall comfort. The EQE offers more legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers, and its wider body also provides more shoulder room. The EQE's rear seats can be adjusted for optimal comfort, with optional heating and ventilation, making it a luxurious option for long journeys.
Additionally, the EQE boasts a larger trunk than the Model 3, providing more space for luggage and other cargo. While the Model 3 does offer a frunk, it is not as spacious as the EQE's trunk. Overall, the Mercedes-Benz EQE's superior interior space, comfort, and storage options make it a more practical and comfortable choice for drivers seeking a spacious and luxurious midsize electric sedan.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE and the Tesla Model 3 are both technologically advanced electric vehicles that offer a wide range of features and accessories.

The EQE's interior is equipped with a digital dashboard display, as well as a large central touchscreen that can be customized to display a variety of information and entertainment options. The EQE also offers a suite of advanced driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automated parking.
Additionally, the EQE offers several luxurious interior options, such as ventilated and heated seats, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. While the Model 3 offers many of the same features, the EQE's combination of advanced technology and luxurious accessories make it a more well-rounded and luxurious option for drivers seeking a midsize electric sedan.
Mercedes-Benz EQE technology
When it comes to range and charging, the Mercedes-Benz EQE and the Tesla Model 3 both offer impressive capabilities. The EQE boasts an estimated range of around 400 miles, which is significantly higher than the Model 3's range, which varies depending on the battery pack option. In terms of charging, the EQE is capable of charging at a rate of up to 200 kW, which means it can add around 186 miles of range in just 15 minutes. Additionally, the EQE can be charged using both AC and DC charging, providing more flexibility when choosing a charging station. While the Model 3 is also capable of fast charging and offers access to Tesla's extensive Supercharger network, the EQE's longer range and versatile charging capabilities make it a more convenient and practical choice.

When it comes to pricing, the Mercedes-Benz EQE and Tesla Model S are in the same ballpark, but there are some differences to note. The starting price of the Mercedes-Benz EQE is expected to be slightly lower than the Tesla Model S, although exact pricing has not been announced yet. Additionally, the Tesla Model S has various trim levels with different prices, so the cost can vary greatly depending on which version you choose.
It's worth noting that the Tesla Model S comes with a hefty price tag in comparison to the EQE, but the cost of ownership for both vehicles can be offset by government incentives, tax credits, and lower fuel costs over time.
While both the Mercedes-Benz EQE and Tesla Model S offer seating for up to five passengers, the EQE boasts a more spacious and comfortable cabin with more legroom and headroom, particularly in the rear seats. Additionally, the EQE is equipped with a larger trunk with an estimated capacity of up to 20 cubic feet, providing ample space for luggage and gear. The Mercedes-Benz EQE also features high-quality materials and finishes throughout the cabin, showcasing the brand's commitment to luxury and sophistication.
The EQE takes a distinction on sleek appearances. Its Hyperscreen is 53 inches long with three separate screens. The visually appealing screens use Mercede's latest MBUX software with an impressive user interface. The screens are voice command enabled and have a touch screen option with scanners to identify the user.
Tesla Model S's new 17-inch swivel screen pales in comparison to EQE's end-to-end screen. It also has a rear touchscreen, which helps the driver stay focused on the road and enables rear passengers to adjust temperature settings.
As electric vehicles, both the Mercedes-Benz EQE and the Tesla Model S offer impressive range, with zero emissions and no need for traditional gasoline. However, the Mercedes-Benz EQE boasts a more efficient battery and a longer estimated range of up to 400 miles on a single charge, making it a more practical choice for longer road trips or daily commutes.
Additionally, the EQE can be charged up to 80% in just 20 minutes with a fast-charging station, while the Tesla Model S takes around 40 minutes to charge to the same level. The Mercedes-Benz EQE also offers a more comfortable and luxurious driving experience with a quieter cabin, making it an excellent choice for those who value comfort and sustainability in their daily drives.
When it comes to the driving experience, the Mercedes-Benz EQE stands out for its refined and luxurious feel. With its advanced air suspension and acoustic insulation, the EQE offers a smoother and quieter ride than the Tesla Model S, which can be especially noticeable on rougher roads. The EQE's electric motor provides seamless acceleration and a more consistent driving experience, while the vehicle's precise steering and suspension tuning create a more stable and predictable ride.
The EQE also features a spacious and comfortable interior with high-quality materials and a range of advanced technology features that enhance the overall driving experience. Additionally, the Mercedes-Benz EQE comes with a suite of advanced safety features, such as active steering assist and automatic emergency braking, that ensure a safe and comfortable ride. In recent years, the electric vehicle (EV) market has seen rapid growth and competition, with new models being introduced by different automakers. Two notable entries in this market are the Mercedes-Benz EQE and the Tesla Model X. Both cars have been designed to offer luxury and performance while reducing carbon emissions. But how do they compare in terms of features, performance, and price?
In this blog, we will explore the similarities and differences between these two EVs and help you determine which one is the better choice for you. Continue reading to learn more!
When it comes to range and charging capabilities, the Mercedes-Benz EQE outshines the Tesla Model X in many ways. The EQE has an estimated range of over 400 miles on a single charge, which is significantly more than the Model X's estimated range of 371 miles. Moreover, the EQE's charging capabilities are also impressive, with the ability to charge up to 80% in just 20 minutes using a high-power DC fast charger.
In contrast, the Model X's charging speed is comparatively slower. While the Model X also offers fast charging capabilities, it takes around 40 minutes to charge up to 80%, which is twice as long as the EQE.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE and Tesla Model X both boast impressive electric motors and power, but once again, the EQE has an edge over the Model X in terms of performance. The EQE is equipped with a dual-motor setup that can generate up to 402 horsepower and accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.
In comparison, the Model X can produce up to 670 horsepower with the Ludicrous mode option and can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, but that comes at a higher cost. Moreover, the EQE's motor is more efficient and quieter, ensuring a smoother and more comfortable ride.
Overall, while the Model X may have a more powerful motor, the EQE offers a balance of power, efficiency, and comfort, making it a great option for those seeking a luxurious and high-performing electric vehicle.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE and Tesla Model X stand out in terms of interior, cargo, and comfort. The EQE's cabin features a sleek and modern design, with high-quality materials and advanced technology throughout. The car's infotainment system is intuitive and easy to use, while its advanced driver assistance features offer added safety and convenience.
The EQE also provides ample cargo space, with a trunk capacity of up to 27.3 cubic feet, making it perfect for road trips or daily errands. Additionally, the EQE's interior is designed to be comfortable and quiet, with a smooth and responsive ride. In contrast, while the Model X's interior is spacious, its infotainment system is often criticized for being overly complicated and distracting. The Model X also lacks the EQE's quiet and comfortable ride, making it less suitable for longer trips.
The optional Hyperscreen is the highlight of the new 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE's infotainment system. The screen is 56 inches long, with three separate screens behind a single sweeping glass pane. The three screens include a 12.3-inch screen for the front passengers, a 12.3 cluster screen, and a 17.7-inch central screen. With state-of-the-art software, passengers can easily access features without using voice commands or scrolling through. Without the Hyperscreen, the vehicle's standard infotainment system features a 2.3 touchscreen equipped with a fingerprint scanner that allows users to access their profiles. You will also find a wireless device charger and a Burmester sound system to keep you entertained.
Tesla Model X has a large touchscreen infotainment system dominating the dashboard and controlling virtually all settings and features of the vehicle.
